On 29 June 2006 the Hon. John Watkins, Deputy Premier of NSW organised a media conference in the NSW Premier’s office to officially launch the "Eyes on China –Xinjiang" project.

Officials attended the conference included Hon. Morris Iemma, Premier of NSW, His Excellency Qiu Shao Fang, Consul General of PRC in Sydney, other representatives from the NSW Government and the Chinese Consulate General.Also in attendance were members of ACPPRC and the “Eyes on China – Xinjiang”medical team. At the conference, Mr Watkins announced the “Eyes on China-Xinjiang 2006”project and highly praised the humanitarian work undertaken by ACPPRC. Mr John Mills, who joined the medical team to Yunnan last year, also shared his experiences. Mr William Chiu thanked the NSW and Chinese Governments, the Consulate General office, sponsors and all involved for their support. |
