ACPPRC 10th Anniversary Celebration Banquet
In the evening of 6th August 2010, ACPPRC 10th Anniversary Celebration Banquet was held at Marigold Restaurant. Representatives from the Overseas Chinese Committee of the National Peoples' Congress, Overseas Chinese Ministry of the State Council, Taiwan Affairs Ministry of the State Council, Overseas Chinese Hong Kong Macau Taiwan Affairs Committee, the National Peoples' Political Consultative Conference, the China Overseas Friendship Association, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Australian Federal/State/Local Government Officials, and representatives of CPPRC from five continents, attended the Celebration Banquet.
 

After welcome speech from Mr Frank Chou, senior Honorary Chairman of ACPPRC, there were six official addresses from the following VIPs:

H.E Hu Shan, Consul-General (Ambassadorial rank) of the PRC in Sydney;
Mr. Li Lu, Deputy Executive Secretary General of China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful National Reunification;
Hon. Chris Bowen MP, Minister for Human Services, Minister for Financial Services, Superannuation and Corporate Law, representing Australian Prime Minister;
The Hon. Philip Ruddock MP, representing the Leader of Federal Opposition;
The Hon.Virginia Judge MP, Minister for Fair Trading /the Arts, representing NSW Premier;
The Hon Gladys Berejiklian MP, representing NSW Leader of the Opposition.

Dr. Tony Goh, Deputy Chairman of ACPPRC, made the Vote of thanks.

 
 

ACPPRC has enjoyed the support of all the various ministries and departments from China, the Embassy and Consulates in Australia, Australian three levels of government and communities during the past ten years.  During this time the ACPPRC has worked towards peaceful reunification with China and protests vigorously against the secession of Taiwan and Tibet. It has also in many ways participated and contributed towards charity activities, and the promotion of trade, culture, tourism and academic exchanges between the Taiwan Strait and Australia.

After cultural program was performed, awards to ACPPRC Honorary Chairmen and senior Members were presented in the evening.

Donations were also called on to support "Eyes on China-Gansu 2010" free cataract operation project during the evening.
